This website is the virtual component of the Global Peacebuilding Center of the U.S. Institute of Peace (www.USIP.org).

The Global Peacebuilding Center extends USIP’s longstanding educational work to new audiences, especially young people and educators, through multimedia exhibits, educational programs and the resources available here at buildingpeace.org.

The website of the Global Peacebuilding Center features educational resources, a Virtual Passport experience, and ways for young people to engage and connect as peacebuilders. The full functionality of the website is also available as a mobile version.

Read about conflicts around the world and about the work being done by the U.S. Institute of Peace (USIP) and other peacebuilders in conflict zones—find insights into “a day in the life of a peacebuilder” and learn about some of the tools that peacebuilders use to manage conflict internationally.

Young people will find places to share their own stories, join discussions, ask questions of USIP experts, and become part of a community of peacebuilders; learn about the connection between study abroad and peacebuilding, and about the value of international experiences and exchanges for young peacebuilders.

Educators will find a dedicated section to support their work, featuring the new Peacebuilding Toolkit for Educators and other activities and resources to help bring peacebuilding into the classroom.

The Virtual Passport experience provides a means for all users to connect with the wider world, and an opportunity for them to earn “stamps” as they progress through interactive features on the site and learn more about conflict management and peacebuilding.

USIP acknowledges with gratitude the generous support of the Verizon Foundation for the development of this new website of the Global Peacebuilding Center.
