Through the Peace Teachers Program, teacher workshops, webinars, and other opportunities, educators can find support and training on how to incorporate peacebuilding themes and skills into their educational settings.

Peace Teachers Program

USIP’s Peace Teachers Program is a year-long professional development opportunity for middle and high school educators in the United States. Launched in 2015, it selects up to six outstanding American middle and high school teachers each year, from new states each year, to receive education, resources, and support to strengthen their teaching of international conflict and the possibilities of peace.

Webinars for Educators

These webinars introduce key issues in international conflict management and peacebuilding and explore classroom resources and strategies for teaching these issues in the classroom.

Global Campus Courses

No matter what you do or how experienced you may be, if you are committed to building peace and resolving conflict, USIP’s Global Campus has an educational opportunity for you. Explore the course catalog to find the educational experience that is right for you. Certificates are awarded upon course completion.

Professional Development Sessions for Educators

USIP offers teacher workshops that introduce educators to USIP’s resources for schools. Groups of educators may request a virtual workshop (and workshops onsite at our Washington, D.C. headquarters, when possible due to COVID-19 restrictions) led by a USIP staff member by submitting the Group Visit Request form. Please note, in practicing prevention and in consideration of the well-being of our colleagues and guests, USIP is limiting visitors to its headquarters at this time.
